Always be drunk.
The great imperative!
In order not to feel
Time's horrid fardel
bruise your shoulders,
grinding you into the earth,
Get drunk and stay that way.
On wine, poetry, virtue, whatever.
But get drunk.
And if you sometimes happen to wake up
on the porches of a palace,
in the green grass of a ditch,
in the dismal loneliness of your own room,
your drunkenness gone or disappearing,
ask the wind,
ask everything that flees,
everything that groans
everything that speaks,
ask what time it is;
and the wind,
will answer you:
"Time to get drunk!
Don't be martyred slaves of Time,
On wine, virtue, poetry, whatever!"
- Charles Baudelaire
The springtime has brought a steady flow of fantastic rides round here A while ago I did a ride form the Balls up to Chamisa with Anthony. He is back to riding a good bit again which is good. Or shall I say on my schedule.
The bikes hangin on the rack at "the rock"
Is that water?
Then it was back onto the Balls for a bit more milage... and fun
The next week Anthony, Todd, and I tried to get up as high as we could up the Winsor. We got as far as Borrego and decided we had gone far enough.
Coming down the Chamisa trail after the saddle towards the Winsor was precarious on the ice
Sunny snow on the Chamisa
Todd enjoying some Winsor
The moon rose fullness
Then one day I met up with Preston, Jeff, Brian, Mark, Andy and Anthony and we went up Bland and up to the camper and down Killer Swichbacks and down Medio Dia. Was a fantastic ride and the first time in 2011 getting up tat high at Cochiti. ONly snapped a couple shots
Mark coming up the last section above Bland to the saddle
One of my teammates (Brian Martinson) in the upcoming 24 Hours OF The Enchanted Forest
and yet another teammate Jeff
the venerable Preston climbing on the Mojo
Antonio on the rocky goodness that is killer switchbacks
I have been looking back at some old photos and thought I would revisit some old ones.
This was a sweet ride T-Glatz and I did on the Dale Ball South trails. I was on a rigid 26 inch wheeled bike... : o
Todd was on his Klein
fear does not stop death... it stops life
What is in your audio player? I have been enjoying the new Thurston Moore album being streamed up npr. Also was digging this early video of Arcade Fire.
