Taos,New Mexico

Rode the final day of GITA a couple weeks ago. I couldn't pull off either one of the other rides in Los Alamos which looked to be good fun. The 3rd day was one I didn't want to miss because it was a ride on the South Boundary trail. There are some good pictures that SSportsman took as well as some others that had better cameras then my hunk of junk. My batteries died before I even got to the fun stuff. Ohh well Shit happens. There was 20 some people there with every type of mountain biker represented. It was a GREAT day. Quite a few folks came down from Colorado. Here are the couple pictures I managed to take before the batteries died.
We started the ride by loading the bikes in some trucks and driving up towards AngelFire where we would start our actual RIDE.

The very start of the ride was on this nice fire road climb which was a perfect warm up.

Actual mud was on the trail here

What is that? I think I see a sign for South Boundary

We did a regroup here. This is Ed's nice Kent Erickson 29er

Joes Retrotec

Bruce told me to never take his picture again

I think that is Tom climbing

Regroup mentally for the fun ahead this is around where my camera died and the trail became really FUN

Paul from up round the front range had a really nice Coconino frame.

Hey where are they going?

The Host enjoying the ride with his SLR on his back.

Of course I took this one too late

Melanie riding along. I didn't really get to meet Melanie but someone was saying that this was her first big ride.

Nice break spot

After my camera went dead the trail becomes a endless ribbon of love. Then you get some tech thrown in for good measure at the end. Back to Taos for Beers, of course.
Then I drove back to Santa Fe and popped open a .....

What is in your audio player? I have the new Beck in mine. I don't think I have disliked a single Beck album.
I better get to bed I have to read Ella a story. Be safe going home.

Los Nativos un largo trayecto

A Lovely Left

I thought I would put a picture of a good break in Maryland(Indian River) that was much fun to surf. The picture was taken by a friend named Kenny who is living in HI now. This is a good time for waves on the east coast. I miss the ocean.
Lately I have been joining up with some guys and gals who ride the Dale Ball trails every Tuesday and Thursday. They are the Los Nativos. A fun group of people. I like the way they are always mixing up the way they ride the trails. Makes it new. I took a couple pics from a ride a couple weeks ago I had with them.
I really like riding here in the late afternoon/evening time the light is killer.

Bob emerging among the clouds

Lee, Jaime, Tim, and Bob contemplate there next move

Anthony starting to get back in the saddle decides to lower his

JRA Cerro Gordo

I will try to get to the point

I had a nice little IPA the other day. From Speak Easy Brewery. I enjoyed it very much.

While I was working in AZ the last couple weekends I noticed many pretty Saguaro Cactus.

What is in your audio player? I have Built to Spill- Perfect from Now On in mine.
Gonna be a nice weekend here in the Southwest. Let's all get out and put foot
to pedal.
                  PEACE!

I'll Cast A Shadow

Had a GREAT ride the other day. Went up to Chameeza and did Chameeza to Sidewinder to Nuns corner then road the road down to Dale Ball North and did that. It was good to mix it up a little.
Days are getting way short this time of year. I might have to dust off my lights soon. Charge em up and get out the booties. After spending the last 2 weekends in Phoenix I think I like the warm temps very much. I also like snowboarding too though. Wolf Creek has all ready gotten 21 inches of snow this year. Let's keep our fingers crossed for some good Pow Pow to ride this year. Last year around these parts was dismal for snow. Great for biking though.
Todd sent me over some pictures from our ride up Rio en Medio the other day. He took some nice ones. He took the on into the sun on the top. Since I LOVE pictures I will put them up.

That is Toddy's pictures from the other day up the Rio en Medio.
Here are the other ride pics.

It is always fun to get out higher up the mountain and be with the pines

The blue sky is just perfect on this one

up on Sidewinder

The obligatory fence shot along burn trail.

Heading down towards little tesuque creek.

Grande CHAMISA

Recess Time

Then it was back to the Grind

Then it was onto the DB North for some fun.

There is a plan to clear cut some trees in the area of the Dale Ball trails

The ride was really fun but I snapped a chain and didn't have enuff chain left to ride out (note to self: take extra chain links with you)

I can't wait to do some more rides incorporating the winsor area and the Dale Ball trails. Both area's have such differences.
What is in your audio player? I have Sage Francis- A Healthy Distrust in mine.
I am going to go ride the South Boundary trail this weekend with the GITA crew. I think I will take the IF this time to give it a taste of Taos. Keep it rigid. Should be fun on that flowing trail.

All right you guys, gotta go. I have work to do. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

            PEACE!
